Game went out of sync.

SYMPTOMS
When playing a multiplayer game you get one of the following messages:
You were dropped from the game because of a sync error. Your network connection may have been lost.

CAUSE
This error is caused by any of the following:
• One of the players are using a trainer application.
• One of the players have overclocked their CPU.
• One of the players are using a incorrectly configured proxy.

RESOLUTION
The Player is using a Trainer Program
Do not use a trainer program while playing any of the games listed below.

More Information
A trainer program is a program which uses the game packets to give the user functionality which would be otherwise disallowed. This may cause the game to fall out of sync.
It is important to note that these "trainer" programs, no matter what they are used for, are strictly forbidden on IGZ.

The CPU is overclocked
Set the system settings to default, this can be done through the bios or some motherboard manufacturers supply programs to do this in your windows environment.

Incorrectly configured proxy
Get your correct proxy setting from your ISP (Internet Provider).
If your ISP supports automatic proxy detection, set Internet Explorer to automatically detect proxy settings instead of running a configuration script.
If your ISP supports automatic proxy detection, set your browser settings to detect proxy settings automatically, rather than running a configuration script.

More Information
Your ISP must also have the ports open their end as well as yours. If you also use a firewall or anti-virus software this may also block the ports, make sure that you have your firewall open to accept all DirectX ports. Contact your firewall/antivirus program manufacturer for help configuring their software.
Sometimes a proxy client will configure your browser to use an automatic configuration script. This can interfere with the network traffic that a DirectX game requires and cause a sync error.
